What kind of screen protection do you buy for a touch-screen laptop?Is it even possible to use a hard protector, or do you have to use a soft static-cling protector if you have a touch screen?
Any recommended brands (links)?
It's not for me, I want to get it as a present for my boyfriend – he said that he would to replace his (it's a cling one) a while back =)

I don't think it's so much the pen or finger issue as it is the screen resolution.
If you try to click a tiny button on a large resolution screen, it confuses the system because it doesn't know if your clicking the button or the screen outside of the button. All windows / mouse pointer sees is a large selection of pixels that have been clicked and it doesn't know which ones to give priority to.
In short, the screen doesn't know if it's the middle of your finger it should use as the pointer or the outer side of it. If it's a small object like a pen tip it makes it a lot easier.
